Geography
Argentina’s geography varies given the expansive land that Argentina covers. This triangle shaped country is made up of six provinces and covers an area almost a third of the United States. The largest and most well known of all the regions is Patagonia which is consists of arid, windswept plateaus. Mesopotamia is another famous region because it contains Iguazu Falls, which are one of the most elaborate and largest waterfalls in the world. Being located south of the equator makes Argentina's climate unique. The seasons are reversed. The climate can also vary in the Andes Mountains which contain some of the tallest mountains in South America. Aconcagua, the largest mountain in Argentina, is about the size of eighteen Empire State buildings. Traveling out of the Andes Mountains are eight major rivers including the Parana river which is the largest river in Argentina. This country also has deserts, such as the Patagonia which is the largest in Argentina. Deforestation is having a significant impact on Argentina’s land. The cattle and beef industry often destroy the natural habitats of native plants and animals. Cattle is one of the main exports of Argentina. Argentina is a vast country of different types of land and climate.
